DESTIHL Brewery
In 2017, DESTIHL Brewery built a new 47,000-sq.ft. brewery in Bloomington-Normal, IL that included not one, but TWO, Sprinkman brewhouses! The main brewing system is a highly specialized 60-barrel/3-vessel brewhouse that has the ability to sour kettle 240-barrels due to the addition of a 120-barrel sour kettle/whirlpool. Additional space was built into the brewing platform to add another vessel in the future. That unique sour kettle configuration will allow DESTIHL to vastly increase production of its wildly popular, award-winning Wild Sour SeriesTM beers. The second system is a 10- barrel/2-vessel pilot brewhouse for the innovative craft brewer. DESTIHL’s expansion is being driven by heavy demand for its unique portfolio of beers, both locally and in over 19 states nationwide!
The main system, the most unique ever built by Sprinkman, is capable of brewing more than 150,000 barrels of beer annually, although initial fermentation capacity will be 25,000 barrels annually, which can be scaled up rapidly as needed to meet demand. In addition to the brewing equipment, Sprinkman provided a spent grain silo with an automated removal system and 120-barrel fermenters and brite tanks for the cellar.
